Tenepan Tablet

The tenepan tablet is an oral antidiabetic drug which is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It 
controls the high blood sugar level. The medication is taken along with the control diet and 
regular exercise. Read on to know about working, side effects, precautions, and contraindications 
of tenepan tablet.
Composition and strength 
The active ingredient of tenepan tablet is teneligliptin and strength is 20MG for oral use. 

How tenepan tablet works?
Teneligliptin drug belongs to the class of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor( DPP-4). These drugs
inhibit the release of glucagon due to increasing the incretin level (GLP-1 and GIP). As a result,
increase the insulin release from the pancreas and decrease blood sugar level.
Tenepan tablet uses:
Tenepan Tablet is used in patients suffering from the following conditions:
Non-Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus:
A condition in which our pancreas does not produce a sufficient amount of insulin due to which 
increased the blood sugar level.
Common side effects of tenepan tablet:
• Nausea
• Loss Of Appetite
• Diarrhea
• Headache
• Hypoglycemia
• Nasopharyngitis
• Skin Diseases
• Upper Respiratory Tract Infection
Tenepan – Contraindications 
Tenepan Tablet should not be used if you have the following conditions:
• Hypersensitivity or any other ingredients of tenepan
• Diabetic ketoacidosis
• Serve infection
• Trauma
• Any history of diabetic coma and heart failure
• Serve hepatic impairment
Tenepan Tablet - Precautions & How to Use 
Before taking tenepan tablet, tell your doctor/pharmacist about your medications of prescription 
and nonprescription. If you had any allergic reaction to tenepan must be told about your 
doctors/pharmacist, also be mention if you are taking anticoagulants such as warfarin, aspirin 
and NSAIDs drugs
Tenepan should not be used if you are suffering from following conditions and asked your 
doctor/pharmacist about the benefits and risks of this drug before taking :
• If you are suffering from diabetic ketoacidosis
• Any history of congestive heart failure, arrhythmia.
• If you are suffering from congenital QT prolongation syndrome.
• If you have to serve hepatic impairment.
The dose and duration of medicine asked by your doctor/ pharmacist. Do not chew this tablet. 
Swallow this medicine with water. The medication is taken along with a control diet and exercise.
General warnings:
Overdosage:
Do not take more than prescribed dose it may cause harmful side effects. So consult your doctor 
or pharmacist if you find any side effects.
Missing dosage:
If you miss a dosage take it as soon as possible, and do not take it if it is near the time for the 
next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dose schedule. Do not take two doses at 
one time.
Pregnancy:
There is no human and animal studies are available. If you are pregnant or become to be a plan, 
before taking tenepan tablet asked your doctor/pharmacist.
Breastfeeding:
Tenepan tablet is not recommended during breastfeeding. Before taking this medicine consult 
your doctor/ pharmacist.
